  6. Find the location of a decentered 
  7. lens by having the patient look in 
  8. different positions of gaze and 
  9. lifting the lids away to view the 
  10. cul-de-sac.  Once located, pull 
  11. the lid(s) back far enough to get 
  12. the lid beyond the edge of the 
  13. lens.  With the lid margin push 
  14. the lens gently back onto the 
  15. cornea.

  19. Do NOT rub the lens through the lids or hold the lens in place with the lids and have the patient turn their eye into the lens.   Both of these procedures could result in discomfort and/or a cornea abrasion.
